As I told you, you have to unzip the file here

C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\Documenti\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\db\

and you will find a new folder so

C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\Documenti\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\db\WORLD1992

Now run FM2008, patched at 8.0.2 (you can download this patch here http://www.fmformation.net/general-d...h-8-0-2-a.html) anc choose "Create new game".
Soon it will ask you to select a db to use for; open the slidingbox (I don't know the name in english) as shown



and select a league.

This only if you made a normal installation; if you made a custom installation I don't know.

I am not patched on 802 so i will download later, do i have to remove the FMformation v1 update for this World1992 db to run or is it ok?

Shall i also download the new FMformation v3 update?

No, absolutely.
You don't need to delete anything because this db will not overwrite anything.
if you want to download FMformation v3 update you're free to do it, there will never be conflicts.
Only faces could create troubles if you don't clean your "faces" directory (after zipped all, with subdirectory, and stored your zip file for future use).

Thanks mate, top man. Do i remove all my current player / manager pictures then install all your faces in the same file? And do all the logo's / graphics / skins that i currently have work on the world1992 db?

Yes. You have to zip before all your
C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\Documenti\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\graphics\pictures\players
recovering the subdirectory, then you store your zip file somewhere for future use. Now your pictures\players should be empty.
Unzip my faces.zip inside the pictures\players folder rebuilding subdirectories.
You should find inside pictures\players folder some subdirectories with names of teams (Ancona, Bari ... and _add01, _add02 ...).
Any of those subdirectory has a config.xml file.

That's all.

Don't care about logos, skins and other graphics; I didn't touch them. Leave them where they are, you have only to touch pictures\players folder.

Unfortunaletly I know only italian db.

I made a db similar to this one, but limited only to italian teams called "1972/73" reproducing the season in which I started to play active football.

I was tester over another italian db called "Legends", a very well made db with more than 1000 players and faces. Was centered over italian teams, but it's full also of great foreigner players of any age, all great players of Hungaria '50, all great players og "Grande Torino" of '40 years, the greatest players of Brazil 1962, players from '20 years until now. I tested with the producer for a month but I didn't like too much because any great player has an age between 24 and 28 years, so you can find teams full of great players, and many of them have many roles on the field; I didn't feel any team, it was difficult to make a formation, any player was interchargeable with others, but he presents history of football.

Does your world1992 db continue for many seasons as a normal db when you start and is it only Italian teams / players from Serie A/B?

Sorry but i forgot to ask if i download patch 8.0.2 where do i have to unzip it to?

You have to run it, it's an executable file that patch everything by itself.

My db is a normal db; you can play how many seasons you want, FM engine will generate new players any season for a long lige of game.

Which team would you advise me to start with? Will the tactics / training i use on my current game using the FMformation update work with this db or will i have to start from scratch?

The best team in Italy was AC Milan, really powerfull and rich. other best teams are Juventus and Inter.
Medium team are Lazio, Roma, Torino and Napoli.
If you want to fight for relegation, you can select Fiorentina or Genoa.

Tactics and training are free, do as usually you do.

Thank you for your words.
I think in next days I will upload a release 1.3 with a lot of south american players, more faces and, most of all, will have the same details for England, Spain, Brazil and Germany.

I just rebuilded values of each teams and rebuilded the first division of any nation. For England I had to made some changes because Premier had not the same number of team than now.

Tomorrow I will upload the excel files for a comment.

hi mate, i know this is a big ask from you, but is there a way you could release a list or make a shortlist of all the new world class players on the game?? also a shortlist of all the best new young stars on your db(they will be today's current world stars)

It's not easy to do.

In release 1.0 you can find those players, only in Italian first division

In release 1.1 I added foreigner players from the following file

I inserted around 2200 of players shown, for the others I didn't find data or usefull informations

In working release 1.3 I should add new 200 players from south america, a job made with help of a brazilian guy. At the moment, only for italian first league I remade the list of teams in "serie A", moving teams from actual lower division and relegating actual first league teams and rebuilding the value of any team according itw own history between 1990 and 1995. In release, ready in the middle of next week, I will do the same job for England, Germany, Spain and Brazil, changing also the teams which should partecipate to international competitions. So it will be more accurate the level of reality of any of these leagues and will be possible to play with these leagues too. For instance, if you play now with english teams, you will fins Leeds united in third division, like in 2007, while in release 1.3 it will be in Premier League.
