The club is steeped with much history and tradition, and remains the only amateur club in the Scottish League. The club's home is one of 29 UEFA five-star stadia, the all-seated Hampden Park in south east Glasgow, which is also the home of the Scottish national team. Queen's Park have won the Scottish Cup the third most amount of times, behind Rangers and Celtic. The club's amateur status is reflected by their motto, 'Ludens causa ludere' - 'the game for the game's sake.' Being an amateur side, you can only offer part time amateur contracts to your players, meaning at the end of the season your players can sign with any club they want, you have NO wage budget, NO transfer budget, oh and the club has a loan debt of 12 millions. Still you get top training facilities, average youth facilities and Hampden Park which hopefully will help you attract some decent players. The Aim Simple.Win the Champions League!!! RULES Load a game with the Scottish leagues only, with the Third Division selected, any kind of database (small, medium, large), and the attribute masking and the transfer boxes ticked. No additional players from any nation should be loaded . No external utilities such as FMScout should be used and the database should be the 8.0.2 update. Take over Queen's Park and get going!!! | | | | | 17-05-08, 06:00 PM | #2 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Apr 2008 Posts: 31 Thanks: 1 Thanked 4 Times in 4 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | i might try this because im getting bored with my season actually im going to do now | | | | | 17-05-08, 07:01 PM | #3 (permalink) | | Used In Squad Rotation Join Date: May 2007 Posts: 327 Thanks: 7 Thanked 33 Times in 25 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | hmm seems interesting and might not be so hard for me since ive allready took 1 amateurs club to top well wasnt champions league but still won the bundesliga thing is once u hit a certain point the board will change the club from amateur to semi-profesional or profesional so will become easier once u hit that point which i would think might happen if u get promoted | thanks to Josh for makin this awesome sig! | | | 18-05-08, 06:29 AM | #4 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Nov 2007 Posts: 3 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | One more thing...The game might be hard coded so that Queen's Park's amateur status never changes to semi-pro or pro...Good luck!!! | | | | | 19-05-08, 02:18 PM | #5 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Jan 2008 Posts: 12 Thanks: 1 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | what? so they never change their status | | | | | 19-05-08, 11:29 PM | #6 (permalink) | | Backup To The First Team Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Swansea Posts: 235 Thanks: 43 Thanked 31 Times in 31 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | this sounds solid might try at a later date | | | | 20-05-08, 09:30 AM | #7 (permalink) | | What Bozza can do with an orange, I can do with a grape! I thougt it would be really hard to keep hold of players and almost impossible to sign any type of quality (even with Scottish D2 measure...) But this far i've found amir karic on free from olimpija, gerard rossi, sammy monin and michael hazeldine. Two straight victories in the league and topping on gd Sent Partick Thistle out of the league cup. I'll keep you posted. Anyone else who's started this challange? | | | | | 21-05-08, 12:32 PM | #9 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Nov 2007 Posts: 3 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | I will also be starting this. Will keep you updated with my progress Cheers | | | | | 21-05-08, 11:35 PM | #10 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Trondheim Posts: 12 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | i have just started this game..after 13games are i 4th in league.all the cups have gone to hell.will post some screens when first seson is over.. | | | | 23-05-08, 09:08 PM | #11 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Nov 2007 Posts: 10 Thanks: 1 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | Half the first season After 21 games we're topping the table with 17 wins and 4 draws. This is the first time in FM08 that I haven't lost a game for as long as 21 games...some games have been very close and luck has been on QP's side. Michael Hazeldine is top goalscorer with 16 goals in 17 games. I'll post screens when first season is finished | | | | | 14-06-08, 04:38 PM | #12 (permalink) | | Decent Youngster Join Date: Nov 2007 Posts: 10 Thanks: 1 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | My first season Just finished my first season with QP We ended up as champions. Queens Park were the first football team EVER to use tactics e.g. passing, in the late 19th century, they surprised everyone by winning the FA Cup. Before this football just consisted of individuals attempting to dribble through the opposing team, passing was considered bad play! I might try this, sounds like a laugh lol | | | | | 20-07-08, 07:45 AM | #17 (permalink) | | Backup To The First Team Join Date: May 2007 Location: ~ Bonny Scotland ~ Posts: 111 Thanks: 6 Thanked 6 Times in 6 Posts Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | Quote: Originally Posted by steveadams69 Great challenge! They didn't actually win it but they did finish runners up to Blackburn Rovers in both 1884 and 1885. Anyway, this looks like a great challenge. I think I'll give it a go if I get bored of my Thurrock game. | | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | | All times are GMT.
