The Story: You are a football journeyman who has just retired from football and obtained the nessecery coaching badges to go into management. Knowing it will be difficult to find a job in europe you decide the best option is to learn your trade in a developing footballing nation.
The League: Most leagues or nations outside of europe. Somewhere like Asia, Oceania or Africa. Has to be small club with low reputation or a minor footballing nation (so you can't go Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana etc) I was thinking somewhere like Hong Kong, Singapore, Mongolia, Cook Islands, Rwanda, India, El Salvador, Barbados etc you get the idea. (most nations become playable if you select 'upload all players from ...')
The Team: Any team you want (within guidelines above)
The Aim
To use your chosen team as a stepping stone into european management
Or to improve your team/nation until they are a significant footballing power. (i.e take them to the World Cup etc)
to win as many Trophies and honours as you can
Ultimately become a World Reknowned manager
The Rules
you must set your past experience to 'automatic' or 'sunday league player'
You must post screen shots of your transfers after each window
You must post screen shots of the manager overview at each window and at the end of the season
Use this thread to keep progress of your game
Tactics/player discussion is allowed
Once/If you move to a european club you need to sign at least 1 player based in the country you started your management career
Any questions/suggestions? I suggest loading conference england and/or italy C2 as a logical jump into european management.
Think personally I am going hong kong or a team from hong kong.
I always start in bottom leagues. English conference north/south. Scottish 3rd division. Italy c2 but rarely outside europe.
Well Ive started. Took Hong Kong national job and also got offered job at club 'Tai Po' so I'll let you know how it goes. My 'knowledge' of nations has went up drastically too. My knowledge of china and hong kong is full. and obviously scotland. Also for some reason half bars on nigeria and brazil too. that'll be helpful for my scouts when moving to a different club.
Just wondering if a Superleague China team is allowed if it is a National rep team, plz reply,
BTW can you scrap the sign a player based in past country plz, its a weird rule that won't work, why would a top league china player come to a low league european player.

Well China is a huge country, quite a few good quality veteran pros might go there but they aren't a great footballing nation so I don't see why not. Think you might have more luck than me! I'm struggling in Hong Kong.
I meant once you get established try and sign at least one but If you want to scrap it thats fine.
cool, thanks for joining in joshua. Looks like you'll have your work cut out too. Even though you have a big stadium and some money to spend there are some decent clubs in your league. good luck!
Don't worry too much about the rules. You don't need to post every overviewbut as long as we post fairly regularly to give everyone an idea of how we are doing
right started the season I've struggled in the transfer market:
But I got off to a flying start in my first match even though I was massive underdogs!:
only problem is my star player is a 16 year old ghanian. Under 18 players from ghana cannot sign for clubs outside ghana. so ive only got him on trial. In hong kong league you seem to be able to play trialists.
great challenge :) i have started with Rwanda ..also load in Hong Kong league and england from coca cola league 2..hope i wil gain success with Rwanda then Hong Kong league so go over to coca cola 2 or something:P
sounds like a difficult route sven! But if you get a job at one of the bigger hong kong teams you could go on to win asian club cup etc so it might pay off!

Cracking challenge idea this, Would love to give it a go, but know nothing about any of the aisan clubs. Who should I look out for, I fancy some team mid to upper table in ability?
Not many signings but all were needed, had no right backs in squad and had to buy centre mid cos of stupid Chinese rules, bolton were the worst parent club ever, none of there players want to come to us.
Pre Season:
FR - Nanjing Vs Wuhan - 4-1
FR - Jiangsu Vs Wuhan - 2-1
FR - Anhui Vs Wuhan - 3-0
FR - Nanchang Vs Wuhan - 3-1
FR - Qunying Vs Wuhan - 6-2
FR - Guangzhou Vs Wuhan - 4-1
Great pre-season but all against lower league teams, will need defence to do well if we are going to do well this year, keeping an eye on english league when it starts to make the move to europe, chinese league has too many rules to make it hard, they also have loads of Brazilians in the league but you can only have 3 players from abroard in starting 11 and 4 in match squad and only chinese GK and all Chinese GK's are crap, the best are L2 standard.
Top and 2nd and 3rd play each other next, if that ends in a draw and I win i'll run away with the title, turns out that all we needed was a right back and centre mid. Will keep you posted.

Mate, same here, I knew nothing, I looked at a mid table team in China that had a parent club in England, Wuhan have Bolton as a parent club but none of there players want to come to us and the Chinese league is the hardest league I have every played, the windows have different rules, the leagues have rules that make it hard to buy players, its a god challenge, I'm doing well but I think its cos the teams are small and the teams expected to be at the top have cup games but I don't. 1/4 way through season and top, not bad for someone who has only ever played in english leagues.

I knew nothing about asian clubs before I started either. Hong kong league is very difficult, You might do better in China bit more money at least.
Im not doing well with Tai Po but I feel with even a years experience I might even be able to get an english conference job next season.
With Hong Kong I've won my world cup qualifiers so far but got indonesia next and fear they could cause some problems.

Looks like your doing a good job mate. what other leagues did you select? you could be in line for a lower league job in europe as early as next season.
Thanks am doing well, sounds like your having a rough time, its starting to get harder now so will need to really focus over the rest of the season if i'm going to win will post results soon.
