Default From small trees grow Great Forests

Nottingham Forests roll of honour would be he envy of most Premiership clubs and when it comes to European cups Liverpool are the only club in England who have been successful and if you look across Europe they are one of only 19 clubs to win the European cup.

And amazing not only did they win their first European Cup in 79, they also are 1 of only 7 teams to go on and retain the European cup.

The club is steeped in history producing some of the best players and management to grace the English game, most notably the legend that was Brian Clough. Clough was at the helm of the for an amazing 18 years and in that time guided Forest to League success in 78 and two European cups and four League cups. Clough was with the club when Forest dominated Europe …. But Clough was also in charge when Forests demise began.

Forest were relegated from top flight English football in 1993 and although they won promotion back the following season and flittered with the UEFA cup also, Forest have never hit the heights of the 70’s

In 2005 Forest slipped to out of the 2nd tier of English football and now play in the 3rd tier (League 1). With the club riddled with Debt and seemingly marooned in the lower decks of English professional football, this era could be considered to be one of the blackest in the clubs history

League Champions: Winners 1977-78
R/U 1966-67, 1978-79

First Division: winners 1906-07, 1921-22, 1997-98
R/U 1956-57, 1993-94

FA Cup: Winners 1898, 1959
R/U: 1991

League Cup: Winners 1978, 1979, 1989, 1990
R/U 1980, 1992

European Cup: Winners 1979, 1980
European Super Cup: Winners 1980

The Challenge

Well the challenge is to emulate the great Brian Clough and get Forest back to European Success.

Firstly you need to get back to the Premiership and then crown yourself English Champions

Then to Europe, you not only must win the European cup, you must retain it.

The Rules

Clough took over the reigns of Forest in January of 75 and crowning the club league champions in two years.

Fortunately for all who decide to take on this task, Forest are in more of a precarious situation these day

You must be back in the Premiership with in 3 years
You must be Premiership Champions by 6 years
Then European Champions by no longer than 8 years
To consider yourself successful at this challenge, you must RETAIN the European Cup after you win it

Good luck to all and enjoy
