Today I was in ASDA and happened to pick up Championship Manager 2008. I looked at the back cover to discover that it looks a lot better than Football Manager! The major change I noticed is that instead of having the crappy 2D pitch, watching circles moving about, CM has a 3D pitch aswell as a 2D pitch! The training in CM is also so much better! It is also so much easier when in the middle of a match than in FM2008. Quite franqualy, I am gutted that I bought FM over CM, and may end up buying CM too. If anyone agrees with me, or still hasn't bought FM2008 or CM2008, please look at the links before you decide on which to buy! Right now, I am downloading the demo of CM2008 to see if it is worth an extra £30 to have a copy of. If anyone else would like to join me playing the CM2008 demo, the download link is below!

Think I may have a look at the demo no harm testing, competiton is a good thing keeps companies on their toes. :) |

Second of all: you lot have persuaded me not to try the demo and stick with FM
Lastly: anyone think FM should have a 3D pitch and better training options the same as CM? |

if it was the same as FM the there is no competition between the games, and i like the FM training anyway its good :)
maybe a 3d engine but it cant be gaurenteed that it wont **** up the game engine completely |

They (Sports Interactive) better never make a 3d pitch. 3d gets boring after you've seen every possible attack. So lets stick to 2d pitch with FM and if the new CM wants to do 3d pitch, they have my full support since I won't ever play CM lol. |

same here boz, FM > CM i had CM06 as christmas present, didnt compare to FM 06, and tbh they still way behind SI and sega, also FM have many more playable leagues, more players/staff/non players also, much more detailed :D
and i enjoy the 2-d match engine, apart from when you cant see fouls done properly, but hey its not Fifa is it :P |

Cm is nowhere near Fm when it comes to the database and the match engine. But they're closing in. As Fm 08 seems to be a step backwards, and Cm taking a big leap forward, comparing to the earlier games, I would say that SI need to open their eyes and start doing something drastic, because if they continue to believe that they are the best, and that no one is ever going to beat them, they're just plain dumb.
