Winston Parks

Nationality: Costa Rican

In Real Life
Parks gained recognition as an exceptional youth player, appearing in FIFA World Youth Championships U-17 in 1999 held in Nigeria and U-20 in 2001 held in Argentina, and leading Costa Rica during the 2001 U-20 tournament, with four goals. His high internationally performances led the Italian club Udinese to purchase the player for $2.1 million from ASODELI. However, Parks was unable to earn a place in the club's first team, he was loaned to Ascoli and eventually moved on to Lokomotiv Moscow, he was again loaned to FC Saturn Ramenskoe and then he was sold to Slovan Liberec.

Despite his minimal success at the club level, Parks is still an excellent prospect for his country. After making his full national team debut in November 2001, he made the team for the 2002 World Cup, where he appeared in two games as a substitute. Against Turkey he scored the equalizing goal. He also had a great game against Brazil almost scoring. His lack of playing time and injuries have, however, resulted in Parks seeing little time during 2006 World Cup qualifying.

In FM08:
I believe Winston Parks to be a very reliable forward. Parks is available on a free at the start which makes the player even easier to sign. Parks will go to clubs in the Coca-Cola League 1 meaning he is a must have for Lower League Managers. I signed Parks for Millwall FC, in the spoiler below, you will be able to see how good Parks actually is as I have posted a screenshot of his goal tally.
Spoiler

Strengths
Winston Parks has two main strengths, his composure and his heading. Parks will net alot of headers for you, however as he is very composed in the goal-mouth, he will score alot with his feet too.

Weaknesses
Winston Parks has one main weakness, and this is his lack of effort. I have noticed that Parks doesnt really chase down balls when a through ball is played for him, However he can make up for this when a ball is passed to his feet or crossed in for his head.

Conclusion
To conclude; I believe Winston Parks to be a must have signing for a team in the Coca-Cola Championship or below. Parks is a must have for a number of reasons. One, he is free. Two, he asks for very little wage. And Three, because he is lethal in the box.
