Basically the first team isnt too bad, though a goalkeeper is needed desperatly (lobont from bucharest is top class £900k) and the defence is ageing with players like coly and couto the wrong side of 30, neverthless they are both still good players. Up front is where parma are strong, Corradi (ex man city), Lucarelli and Budan (co-owned) are all good enough for a starting slot in the team so the forward line is good, however still ageing. The midfield with players like morfeo is good, and there are some good young players coming through to fill the positions of the golden oldies in midfield.
I would recomend you invest in a new gk, and mainly youth players who come for free (compensation). Also i would suggest you bring in Eric Addo on a free from PSV who can fill in in defence or midfield and is a very versatile player.
Pjanic from metz is a must and i would imagine he will come to parma (compensation). Loan him to an affiliate for the first season and then stick him in the first team squad and watch him turn into one of the best players on the game.
Sankhare from PSG (if its possible, im not sure) would also be a good signing, and could well develop into the one of the best defensive midfielders on the game and he is also a compensation package.
A diamond formation 4-1-2-1-2 would be the best option, with morfeo playing behind two of the three strikers. Another player to mention thinking about it is former viola man Reginaldo, who is a good winger for Parma
Recomended XI: (without any signings)
GK- Lucca Bucci
RB- Zenoni
LB- Paolo Castellini
CB- Ferdinand Coly
CB- Falcone
DM- Luca CIgarini (young at 21)
AM- Stefano Morrone
LM- Andrea Pisanu
RM- Reginaldo
ST- Lucarelli
ST- Budan
with even this team a top half finish is achievable, but, with a major youth overhaul (check u18s as well, they have a good academy) Parma can be taken back to "the good old day" within 5 years. Whether or not these new star player will stay though is another matter, look what happened before...
<hope this helped
