He currently plays for Lyon as a winger or a striker in the French Ligue 1, he also plays for the Ivory Coast national team, Keita has made 37 caps for them. Kader Keita played on the right or left wing when playing for his former club, Lille, but now he mainly plays as a striker for Lyon. Like the Toure brothers, the Kone brothers and the Kalou brothers, Keita also has an older brother - Hamza Keita. Hamza also played for his native Cote d'Ivoire. Keita, also known as Popito, begun his footballing career in his home country playing for Africa Sports Club. He then moved on to Tunisian club Etoile du Sahel. After spells with United Arab Emirates club Al Ain and Al Sadd from Qatar, he moved to France to play for Ligue 1 club Lille in 2005. After a fantastic start to the 2006/2007 season, Keita was attracting attention from European giants like AC Milan and Man Utd. However, he decided to sign a new contract til 2010. In January 2007, Keita finished runner up in the 2006 Ivorian player of the year award finishing ahead of players like Kolo Toure, with Dider Drogba beating him to the prize. On June 14, 2007, Lyon officially announced the signing of Kader Keita to the public, stating that Keita and fellow Lille team-mate Mathieu Bodmer would be joining the club.   Kader Keita is a top player on FM. He's fast but he can head the ball too, at the age of 26 i'm sure you won't have seen the last of him!
