Default Jeremy Menez

Jeremy Menez

Age:21
Position: AMRLC FC
Club: AS Monaco
Value:£5million+
Nationality: French
In real life:

Jérémy Menez was born May 7, 1987 in Longjumeau. He currently plays for AS Monaco after signing in June 2006 from FC Sochaux in Ligue 1. A playmaker by trade, he is noted for being the youngest ever scorer of a hat trick in Ligue 1, the youngest ever winner of Ligue 1's player of the month award and has sometimes been compared to Zinédine Zidane. Despite being a playmaker he is more known for his dribbling and pace than his passing.

Attracting interest in October last year from both Liverpool and Manchester Utd, Serie A giants Inter have been keen on the player offering as much as 10 million euros for his services. However, Monaco has asked for over 15 million euros, and for the time being, Menez seems content to stay with Les Monegasques.

I personally have no doubt we will see him as a premiership footballer at some point in his career.

In FM08:

Often overlooked by FM08 gamers in favour of such Ligue1 players as Juninho Paulista and Samir Nasri, Menez is probably the best buy you can get if you want a new Zizou. His stats at the game are ok, but after season three I had him at Arsenal, where it was safe to say he was the first player on the team sheet. At the time I paid nearly £30million, If I'd been quicker and he hadn't been attracting clubs like Juventus and AC Milan, I'd have got him for £15million.

Strengths:

Undoubtably, Jeremy Menez's main assets are his speed with the ball, and just how good he is on it. His Acceleration (17) Pace (15) and Dribbling (17) make him a nightmare for opposition players. Several times on my games, he has had the ball knocked 20-30 yards ahead of him, and beaten the defender to it even if his opponent has a 10 yard head start. His shooting is pretty good too, (13) and composure (14) went up to 17 on both by season three. In 28 games, he scored 13 times, 9 assists.

Weaknesses:

Well, to be honest its all the usual weaknesses from a forward thinking player. His tackling at (4) is woeful, and he cant Mark (4) or throw (6) for toffee. Another drawback is that early on, his Positioning and Teamwork (Both 7) are bad, though they were 12 and 13 respectively in season three. I guess its just a case of the player maturing.

In Conclusion:

I would say a definate purchase, but to avoid breaking the bank, get him early on. He develops into a truly world class player, and is well worth the effort. For your perusal I have pasted one or two YouTube links below so you can see him in action for yourself.

Special thanks to Fedorico and Bozza who gave me the idiots guide to doing this, cheers fellas, it was much appreciated.

If you wish to use this guide elsewhere please PM me with your intentions, as long as it is related back to FMF, I will probably agree.
