They day of the meeting had arrived!
I told Isabel that i was going to MK Dons to meet over a vacancy coaching job and if i were to get a job there we could possibly have to move from our beautiful cottage. She didn't take the news too well. We decided we would discuss it if anything were to happen after all it was just a meeting?
So i travelled to London in my Seat Ibiza. It took me a few hours to find the cafe but with a trusty TomTom Go you can never get lost. I walked into the cafe and sat down on a table. I was sitting for a few moments, when i say some i reconised of the TV walked through the door it was Pete Winkleman the chairman of MK Dons. The man i was here to meet. He must have reconised me because he walked over to where i was sitting, shook my hand and introduced himself. We spoke for sometime about League 2, MK Dons, the way i managed teams, the way i liked to get my teams playing football and the qualifications i had. Then as i finished a sentance on playing direct football he pulled out a contract. I read it slowly... The job was MK Dons assistant manager, £1,500 a week pay. This was great. I thought for a few seconds then i agreed and signed the contract...
Wow, i could make history with MK Dons! This could lead me to living my dream, becoming a manager!
My career in football had started..
My Seat Ibiza.
