Hey Deeb, You have some awesome ideas for future projects. I like your idea for Liverpool but as a United fan I am not big on thier history but what i do know is that the side with Keegan and Dalgleish rocked. I'm thinking Bob Paisley era if poss for that so if u could enlighten me on the Kop history that would be much apprciated. Man Utd 1999 would bea peice of cake for me to do as it is only 8 years ago (jeez is it realli 8 yrs?). Cole and Yorke were class up front and who can forget that magical goal from Giggsy in the semi? Spurs 60s is another grey area for me but was that Regis and Ossy Ardilles? Or is that 80s? Way before my time anyroad as I only came into existance in '86. Mid to late 90s and the present are my strongest areas I would say. Further ideas of my own include merging the Busby Babes 1957 with maybe the pre Munich team (or almagating the 3 great sides all together) and creating a Busby Babes side. There was the first team created in 1946, the Busby Babes of the 50s, which lost 7 of the most gifted and talented footballers of thier day following the Munich air crash and the pre Munich team which included Denis Law, George Best and Sir Bobby Charlton. I have also thought of a Man Utd Legends (Keano, Cantona, Beckam etc) and a Hull City Legends including Billy Whitehurst, Chillo and Waggy. I would appreciate thoughts and comments on that please (Ru would worship me if I did Liverpool lmao). Oh god am I now going to recieve heaps of requests from Chelsea fans asking for a Chelsea Legends? I sincerely hope not! Also Fudgey is spot on when he says about lowering reputation. I am looking for decent youth players with potential to become world class so kinda wonderkids standard of player. He is correct that big teams like them rich sods at Chelski, Real Madrid, Barca etc would come in offering £40m+ for geoff hurst or something equally ridiculous. Of course ur chairman would accept the offer stating that it was "too good to refuse" resulting in you losing promising talent to football's super clubs. That my friends wuld be a massive blow to any team and turn fans and players alike against you. Finally, I am absolutely staggered by the amount of interest that England 1966 has generated amongst the FMF ommunity. Whilst I always anticipated a god reception, I never imagined that interest would seemingly reach fever pitch. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you whether it has being manpower, advice or expertise that you have contributed to helping us all relive the dream and recreate the glory and magical legacy that 1966 produced for English football. Regards, Ant P.S. :Help is still appreciated so anyone like Deeb who wants to contribute you can. All you have to do is check out my profile and MSN me and I will discuss your queries and wrk out what you can help on. Thanks Last edited by ant; 23-04-08 at 03:56 AM. |
