4-4-2

Team placed in the above tactic was chosen by one of the coaches at the club
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Team is just below average and needs to be strengthened in alot of areas, but you need to becareful cause of the clubs financial difficulties and bring in players wisely plus for about three seasons you might need to be a selling club to stay afloat,so look at your future signings as possible cash generators.

? Depends on your formation
2x GoalKeeper's ( Due to Age )
1x Left Back ( Needs a better Left Back )
2x Defender Centre ( Strong starters but lacks Depth )
1x Defender Right ( Cover Injuries )
1x Defensive Midfielder ? ( Only one suitable player at the moment )
1x Midfielder Centre ? ( To cover injuries )
1x Midfielder Left ( Only 1 player there at the moment )
1 or 2 Strikers ( Not enough Fire power )

Simon Royce - 35 - English - Right - 70k - 1.1k per week

He is the strongest keeper at the club but with age not on is side he will not be at the club long so it is a area which needs investment in the future. But to be honest you may get a couple of seasons out of him at the most.He will not keep many clean sheets especially versus the strongest teams and is prone to making mistakes which will cost points.

Derek Stille - 33 - Scottish - Right - 18k - 800 per week

Stille is a Average keeper but will be ok to be used as a substitute Keeper,I would recommend though trying to sell him and useing either the cash or the wage budget to bring in a younger prospect who can eventually take over Royce or straight away.

Kelvin Jack - 31 - Trinidadian - Right - 30k - 1k per week

Kelvin although it says in the report he will be a good keeper for any League One team this is not true at all,he is more likely to find is playing level at League Two and below and should never be given a opportunity in goals for the first team.Sell him and use the money wisely on a better option.

Left Back's

Craig Armstrong - 32 - English - Left - 10k - 800 per week

In all fairness he is a average player but is the only best option at the club out of the current set of players.I feel he can easily be replaced and this would be the best option for you and the club to move forward in a positive manner,Recommended to sell him and bring in a few Left Back's.

Marvin Hamilton - 18 - English - Left - 6k - 200 per week

He is not ready for First Team football yet at all and just be relegated to the reserves but with luck he may turn out ok,for now you will need a player to bring in and be either a starter or a backup Left Back.Overall he is deemed a 50/50 risk.

Right Back's

Duncan Jupp - 32 - Scottish - Right - 20k - 800 per week

The best Right Back at the club but easily replacable and this might be the best option cause due to is age is valuation will go down each season but if you sell him now and get a fair price you could use the cash or wage budget for a player with better pace which is needed and is younger with a future ahead of him.But if you do decide to keep him he will do an ok job when playing.

Sean Clohessy - 20 - English - Right - 18k - 500 per week

Although just 20 years old he can do an above average job but not against the better teams in the Division, he will improve in the future though and will most likely make the Right Back position is untill the time you might get in the Championship which is a step too far for him.Untill then I would keep him.

Defender Centre's

Efe Sodje - 34 - Nigerian - Right - 16k - 1.2k per week

Sodje will most likely be the best pairing for King in the heart of defence and those two together could rank as one of the best pairing in the division, but remember Sodje is 34 and has not got many years left and it would be wise to eye up a replacement for the future. But at the moment he is regarded as a Key Player for the team.

Simon King - 24 - English - Left - 200k - 1.2k per week

A very decent centre back especially for League One and maybe below mid-table Championship teams, will be very consitent through out the season and will even cope versus some good strikers from the same division,he is a Key Player and will be a valuable asset to the team, but sometimes you lose him due to your Chairman accepting a bid for him and it varies from game to game.

Tom Bryant - 18 - English - Right - 3k - 200 per week

At the moment he lacks tha attributes in Key areas to get a starting place for the team but will steadily improve,I would put him in the team against teams you feel are weaker than Gillingham to see how he would fair against them,at the moment he is worth keeping hold off and is probably a sub at best, but if you can bring in a few Centre halves then relegate him to the reserves and let him improve there.

Ian Cox - 34 - Trinidadian - Right - 5k - 800 per week

In the Reserve team when you start the game,I feel it would be best to get rid of him and use the wage buget to bring in a younger player who can improve and be better than Ian Cox.Recommended to sell him.

Defensive Midfielders

Steve Lomas - 33 - N.Ireland - Right - 50k - 2k per week

Regarded as a Key Player for the club and is one of the best players currently at the club.He would walk into every team in the division but he earns too much regarding wages.I would recommend if there was a option to generate a nice transfer from the sale of Lomas I would go ahead with it and bring in someone for the future, but if you wish to keep him it will be hard to find a player of this quality especially for this League.

Midfielders Right

Barry Cogan - 22 - Irish - Right - 35k - 800 per week

Cogan is the second best Right Midfielder in the squad and can do a ok job when given an opportunity, will get a fair share of assists and the odd goal now and again. The only issue with him is that he can sometimes have quite a few bad performances which makes him not seem reliable but is worth a risk and could possibly work out for you and the club in the future.

David Graham - 28 - Scottish - Right - 45k - 1.8k per week

I rate this guy as the best Right Midfielder out of the current choices and can also play up front and still do a good job in that part of the pitch.Like Cogan he will score and assist but where Cogan sometimes as quite a few bad performances this does not apply to Graham at all.Definately a Key Player and one to keep hold of.

Mark Bentley - 29 - English - Right - 30k - 1k per week

Bentley is an average player out of the current squad and will be used as a bit part player, out of the current squad he is only the third best midfielder centre and I would suggest selling him and bring in someone who would score goals for you from the centre of the park cause Bentley will not get many goals at all.

Midfielders Left

Aaron Brown - 27 - English - Left - 35k - 900 per week

Brown is the only player suitable to play at this position and has not really got any competition for is place except for Mark Bentley who can play here as is Secondary Role but that is not recommended. You definetly need to bring a player in or else you will suffer through out the season and if he picks up a injury then you would be trouble. There are alot of players available on the cheap who are alot better than Brown and if you can bring in two Left Midfielders then sell him.

Midfielder's Centre

Nicky Southall - 35 - English - Right - 18k - 2k per week

Although he is the best Centre Midfielder at the club I feel he can easily be replaced by someone from the free list who will be better than him in the future and at the moment, it would give you the chance to generate cash aswell as lowering the Wage Budget at the same time.If you do decide to keep which I would not recommend due to is age he will do a good job when given is chance in the team and would definately be a starter.

Andrew Crofts - 23 - Welsh - Right - 75k - 800 per week

Andrew Crofts is the current captain of Gillingham and is definately regarded as a Key Player.Would walk into alot of teams between bottom half of Championship and below divisions, I would not sell this player at all.

Craig Stone - 18 - English - Right - 9k - 200 per week

Not able to get in the First Team due to him lacking the attributes to be a good player player for the club at the moment,it is recommended to leave him in the reserves to improve there and keep an eye on him to see how he is doing. If there is not any improvements over two - three seasons then sell him.

Delroy Facey - 27 - English - Right - 60k - 1k per week

One of the best player's at the club and will score goals on any given day but the only problem is sometimes he can go on a long streak without scoring which can be a worry.Worth keeping but you may have to sell him in the future due to the clubs financial difficulties.

Gary Mulligan - 22 - Irish - Right - 45k - 800 per week

In a area of the team which really is not that strong compared to most teams in the League, Mulligan is probably rated as Average and should not be considered as a starter and maybe a sub at best.He will not get many goals even if he plays with a strike partner or up front on is own,I would look in to replacing him with a player of better quality and maybe another Striker for on the bench and then sell him.

Guylain Ndumbu-Nsunga 24 - Congolese - Right - 35k - 1k per week

Out on loan at Bradford when you start.Although he as low stats he is an above average striker and will score is fair tally of goals when he returns. But I would consider placing him on the transfer list and bringing in a reliable striker for the club.

Andy Pugh - 18 - English - Right - 9k - 200 per week

Pugh is worth keeping an eye on,but it would depend on how you nuture him in the future to determine how he turns out.At the moment he is not ready for the First Team and will most likely need to improve in the Reserves or out on Loan.Deemded a 50/50 risk.

I hope this guide as helped you to get more familar with Gillingham FC and the playing staff at the club and I hope it also helps you out if you decided to take control at this club.
