Norwich 2 - 1 Blackpool A good start to the year for Norwich as they fight for a good victory over Blackpool at Carrow Road today. Norwich were two goals to the good just after half time but a cracking goal from Blackpool with twenty minutes to go ensured a great finish for the neutral, but I’m sure both managers were feeling the pressure a bit towards the end.
“Delighted with the win in a close game today. I’m happy with the attitude shown by the players since I have come here, and I can only hope this will continue long into the future.” Norwich Manager, David Ashcroft.

Norwich 3 - 0 Scunthorpe A great result for Norwich in David Ashcroft’s first cup game in charge. This victory means that Norwich progress to the FA Cup 4th round. Norwich striker told the media after today’s game that he is delighted with the way that manager David Ashcroft was taking charge of the team and is looking forward to working with him for the foreseeable future.
“Happy to win against what could have been potentially a tripwire game for us today in the FA cup against a team in a lower league than us. The players showed great attitude and stayed disciplined to see the game out and arise victorious. I’m delighted to progress in the cup and can’t wait to find out who we get in the next round.” Norwich Manager, David Ashcroft.

Stoke or Manchester City v Norwich Manager David Ashcroft seemed happy with the draw today, but he was not in attendance at the draw and so was not available for comment today.

Result:
Wolves 1 - 1 Norwich A decent result for both teams. Not really much to report from this game apart from the fact that maybe Norwich should have shaded it.
“I’m happy with a point today, although I feel we should have won the game today. A point is not the worst result today and we’ll hope to build on this and get three points in our next game.” Norwich Manager, David Ashcroft.

Result:
Norwich 1 - 0 Coventry Norwich have now gone five games without defeat and are starting to look like a team who could be sitting in the playoff positions if it wasn’t for such a poor start to the season under previous manager, Glenn Roeder. Norwich, although didn’t win by a large margin, looked comfortable against Coventry for the whole game and as a result came away with three points.
“As a team, we’re delighted to go five games unbeaten and I think the players are disappointed with themselves for they’re poor start to the season, however I have told them that if we continue to play like we have for the last few weeks, then we may still make a playoff position this season, which would be an amazing feat for a team that were in the relegation places just a few months ago.” Norwich Manager, David Ashcroft.

Result:
Man City 6 - 2 Norwich A result that was to be expected today seen Man City come out comfortable victors against Norwich in the 4th round of the FA Cup. Norwich put on a brave face and scored two second half goals however this was nowhere near enough against far superior opponents today. This result just shows the huge difference in class between the premiership and the championship in England.
“I really wasn’t expecting to get a positive result today if I’m being honest, I was thinking about seeing the difference in class between our league and the premiership. It shows straight away today that the players we have will not be capable of playing in the premiership and will have to improve dramatically over the next year or so. I know that sounds harsh and I know that my players will not respond well to this, however I’m hoping that they may use it as motivation to improve within themselves and get us promotion either this season via the play-offs or have a real go for it next year right from the start of the season.” Norwich manager, David Ashcroft.
30th January 2008
Result:
Southampton 2 - 2 Norwich The most likely result before the game was a draw, and that’s what this game produced. It was a really good game with Southampton taking the lead twice and Norwich showing great character to come back and equalise twice. Both teams should be happy with they’re performance, and Norwich are now six league games without defeat.
“happy with the draw, and delighted with our unbeaten run. W showed great character to equalise twice and to be fair we looked as though we were going to go on and score the winner.” Norwich Manager, David Ashcroft.
Month Conclusion An unbeaten month in the league see’s us climb the league again this month which can only be a good thing and I feel we are gaining more confidence in every game we play. I was disappointed with the FA Cup fourth round game, but that happens when you play superior opposition. Hope we can keep this up next month. I still haven’t tested my new signings in first team action, but they have both impressed in reserve games, I might bring them into the first team next month.
