Frank Rost The 33 year old Keeper is the best Goalie at the club and there is not much competition to be honest. Will be a good shot stopper but you would need to hope he does not get injured. Wolfgang Hesl Third choice Goal Keeper at the club at the moment, would not probably get in the first team even if Rost got injured.Possible candidate for transfer list or you could risk it by keeping him for two seasons max to see if he improves. Fabian Lucassen Second choice Keeper at HSV would be ok versus mid table and below teams but would struggle against the likes of FC Bayern,Schalke and Werder Bremen. But he is worth keeping. Left Backs Timothee Atoube Very strong left back would be good to play against any opposition in the German League or in Europe, although Sorin is better than Atouba he is a excellent back up and can even start if Sorin needs to be rested. Juan Pablo Sorin The 31 old year is the strongest left back at the club and is worth is starting place in the first eleven, the only thing that lets Sorin down is he as a habit of collecting alot of booking through the season which means quite a few suspensions. Sebastian Muller Not much to say except for sell him cause he will never be a starting player any time soon or in the future. Right Backs Volker Schimdt I would advise you to sell the 28 year old cause he has not got the attributes at all to be in the first eleven or even making the subsititute bench. Guy Demel Although Demel can play anywhere along the defence or as a Defensive Midfielder,is strongest position is at Right Back.At the moment there really is not any competition. Jerome Boateng The 18 year old is one for the future at the club, although he is young he is already the second best Right Back at the club and can also play as a centre back if needed to, but I would not recommend that untill he improves first. Worth keeping. Centre Backs Vincent Kompany Possibly the strongest centre back at the club but there is not really much difference between him and Mathijsen to be honest which would make him a definate starter. Also make sure you negotiate is contract when you start or you will lose him to another club.Key Player. Joris Mathijsen The Dutch 27 year old is the best partner for Kompany in defence and would be a solid pairing even against top European sides ,Best keeping hold of him cause replacing him will be a challenge, another good thing about this player is he can do a very good job as a Left Back. Bastian Reinhardt 31 year defender is still a good player for the club and can do a good job when called upon. He is the 3rd/4th choice in the Centre Back position for the club the only thing regarding Reinhardt is he lacks the pace to keep up with fast attackers. You could keep him or bring in another Defender who is younger. Tobias Zott Just a average player in the team, does not have the attributes to make the team and at 29 it would be best to get rid of him and bring in a younger player who is better or maybe a season long loan. Wing-Back Timo Kunert Can play as a Right or Left Wing Back, very attack minded to whic is a bonus. If it was up to me I would train him to be a Right Back cause then he could get more games for the club.Worth keeping for 3 seasons to ssee if he improves but it is a gamble. Miso Brecko 23 year old Brecko is a average player, there are better players than him at the club and he is way down the pecking order. Would be best to sell him to generate cash for bringing a player that the club needs in another position. Colin Benjamin Third choice Right Midfielder at HSV and is 28, will do a ok job if needed but would be best to sell and bring in a better player at this position either on laon or permanent. Defensive Midfielders Nigel De Jong The Dutch youngster is one of the best players in Europe in is position and would walk in to most teams, considered a Key Player and a valuable asset for the long term future of the club, I would not sell him at all. Midfield Centre/Attacking Rafael Van der Vaart The best player at HSV is this guy and he still as many years ahead of him, only 24 years old and HSV Captain.Make sure you have him taking Corners, Free Kicks and Penalties as he is very strong in all of them, will score and assist alot through the season.Keep hold of him for has long as you can. Oddo Atto Oddo wont even make the subsititute bench due to the amount of better players in front of him, although a ok player it might be worth it if you sold him. Right Midfield/Attacking David Jarolim The Czech international is the strongest player in this position at the club out of the current players, he is just a bit better than Castelen. Romeo Castelen Only 24 with time in front of him.He will eventually take over the leading role in this position but it wont be in the first season, can be used against most teams and will contribute with goals when giving the opportunity. Anis Ben Hatira Definately one for the future, he is only 18 years old and should be used carefully so he can be nutured correctly cause he will be a future key player.Left Midfield/Attacking Piotr Trochowski There is not really any competition in this position with only Mohamed Zidan been in contention of taking over Trochowski in the near future, would be a starter and will assist through the season. Mario Fillinger Not worth keeping at all, best to sell him. Mohamed Zidan Can player as a Left./Right Midfielder aswell as a Striker, he is currently a second choice Left Midfielder, second choice Attacking Midfielder Centre,3rd Choice Attacking Right Midfielder and possible second choce striker,he is a very versatile player and will be a good player what ever position you decide to play him in. Massimo Canizzaro Not even good enough to be wearing the HSV shirt in all fairness, would be best to sell him and find a replacement. Jose Paolo Guerrero He is just above average, third choice at the club but he is still a talented player who can score you goals if given playing time. Ivica Olic The strongest striker at the club and as great pace for even the quickest defences, will bag goals in aginst any side but can sometimes go on a long streak without scoring. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I will be adding possible Loanees and Transfer Targets soon.
