17th August 2007 We are going to leave tomorrow so we can get to grips with what Peterhead is like and get used to the weather. But first, before we pack, we need to ring our families and tell them of the good news. They don't even know yet!
After i finally got up the chairman rang me and he was delighted that i'd signed the contract. He asked me when i'd be coming up to Peterhead and where we would be living. Whether this is a good thing or not, we will be living just a few minutes away from him. He said there will be a surprise waiting for us at our house.
I contacted the poperty owners of the current house and told them we were leaving. I rung my family and went round to my Mums to say goodbye in person, the day went very fast as i sorted out my personal life!
My Vectra 18th August 2007 So we had said goodbye, packed our stuff and were on our way to a new life and a new job. I prayed that i wouldn't mess it up. It took us a good few hours to get to Peterhead to start with, and a few more hours to find the house. But we got there in the end. Walking down the path i could hear voices, i thought either this is the wrong house or we're being robbed in broad daylight, i walked round the corner and to our shock, standing there was Roger (Chairman), all the players, all the staff and a brand new Audi TT with a ribbon on top. It showed me the family feeling amongst the players and it helped me settle in. I had a chat with the players, in paticular the captain, Bobby Mann and the vice-captain, Jamie Buchan, who welcmoed me to the club and introduced me to the rest of the players and staff. I immediately noticed that there were no scouts and only one coach. That's not enough for me, i like to have a lot of people around me, but what do i know?
My new car Something that i didn't know was that the season had already started and we were 2 games in and bottom of the league! I left the wife at home to unpack and settle in while i checked out the stadium and the training facilities and had a chat with Neale Cooper, our assistant manager. He spoke to me about the squad, saying that we will need to strengthen in midfield and get a new goalkeeper, our best player is Rory McAllister, who is on loan from Inverness. My coach, who is acting as a scout too reccomended a few players for me to have a look at, but i'm not making any decisions until i see the lads train.
Our training facilities are pretty good, better than i expected anyway. The training pitch is in good quality and we have the essential, such as cones etc. The stadium is in good nick, holding 3700. I doubt we are getting anywhere near filling that at the moment.

PRESS CONFERENCE Live from Balmoor Stadium Worrall

Media
Media: First of all, welcome back to football and welcome to Peterhead. What do you think you can achieve with the Blue Toon?
Worrall: I want to get this team promoted in my time here. I don't know what we have to work with here as i only just arrived today, but it's all good so far.
Media: Roger, why did you pick Daniel for the job?
Morrison: I'm a keen follower of low-league English football, and although looking at Daniel's record at Vauxhall it looks like he is a poor manager. He got the players out there giving 100 percent, and that's what we've been lacking in recent seasons.
Media: Daniel, were you surprised when you got the call?
Worrall: Surprised! I almost fell off my chair! I didn't think i'd find a way back into football, and especially not with a club like Peterhead!
Media: We have heard that you have been given a budget of around 15k to buy players with, what do you make of this?
Worrall: I don't have a clue how much i've been given, but if it's anywhere around that amount i will be delighted. On the way up here i've looked at a few players, but only on the internet.
Media: Roger, where do you expect the club to be at the end of the season?
Morrison: This season, we are just looking to stay in this division, then we can build from there. We've had an awful start and i'm sure we can get out of this mess soon enough.
Media: Ok, that'll be all for now. Thanks for talking to us and good luck for the rest of the season!
I think Roger was pleased with how the press conference went, and so was i. I've only just found this out but we are playing Queen of South tomorrow! If we can get anything out of that game i will be delighted, i will have to get the lads in early tomorrow for a training session so i can actually pick the team! I might leave the team selection to my assistant for this game though.
