Someone with no experience as a manager has to start low and try to work his way up. That is the story of me, a manager with no experience, starting in the Icelandic Íslandsmót - Landsbankadeild Karla, the top division of Iceland. The club for me to manage is Fjölnir, a club of which the media says they will finish last this season. Fjölnir, a semi-professional club based in Reykjavik and founded in 1988. The club plays their home matches in the Fjölnisvöllur stadium, in which 1500 fans get to cheer for their club which they love. It is also a club which is very strict. I am not allowed to buy any players in the first season and only one player per season when the first season is over. To make it even tougher, the player needs to have the Icelandic nationality. The club also instructed me to watch all the matches on "Full Match Mode" to learn the most about the club and their players. I guess this is what people call "the ultimate challenge". Gunnar Már Guđmundsson is ready for the upcoming season. I have told the board that I will try to steer the club clear of relegation. Last edited by Bozza; 15-03-08 at 09:01 PM. |
