History Overveiw
Joseph "Joe" Mattock (born May 15, 1990) is an English footballer currently playing for Leicester City. He plays as a defender or a midfielder and has represented England at under 15, 16, 17 & 21 Level. He grew up in the Eyres Monsell area of Leicester.
Mattock says he is still finding it hard to come to terms with his rapid rise from the Leicester youth team to his recognition in the England U21 squad.
Leicester City Overveiw
Mattock was a regular for the Leicester Under-18 side (playing alongside the likes of Ashley Chambers, Max Gradel, Andy King and Eric Odhiambo) as well as England Under 17's. He was part of the U18 squad that won the FA Premier Academy League by beating Sunderland U18s 4-3 on penalties in the 2006/07 season.
He made his senior debut for Leicester in a 2-1 defeat to Norwich City on 14th April 2007, replacing Gareth McAuley in the 78th minute at left back. He was given the number 30 shirt worn the year before by another promising youngster, James Wesolowski. Mattock went on to start three games against Birmingham City, Preston North End and Barnsley during the close of the 2006/07 season, helping the club survive relegation.
On 9 November 2007, during the 2007/08 season, Mattock signed a new contract with Leicester which would keep him at the club for another three years. Leicester rejected a bid from an unnamed Premier League club for Mattock on 14 January 2008. Chairman Milan Mandarić said it was a strong bid but also made it known that they were not interested in selling their best players.
International Career On the back of his Leicester first team debut he was named in the England squad for the U17 Championships in Belgium. On October 3, 2007, Mattock was called up to the England U19 squad for the 2008 European U19 Championship. On 12 November, Mattock was called up to the England U21 squad alongside Richard Stearman for the 2009 European U21 Championship qualifiers, making his debut in a 2-0 win over Bulgaria U21 on 16 November. In doing so he became the second youngest player to represent the England U21, behind Theo Walcott.

On FM Mattock has the potential to be a great Premiership player. He would be a great aqussition for any Prem team as Back up or as there main Left Back in a few years time. Here is some of his most notable stats:
Strength's Determination: 16
Composure: 15
Agility: 15

Opinion I feel that as Mattock gets older he will eventually improve vastly on these stats, he is only 18 afterall and still has plenty of time to improve. He will be a great signing for anyone looking for a consistant left back in the future.
