Default Mohamed Zidan

Initially Zidan's footballing career started as a striker for his hometown club Al-Masry in 1998. His family moved to Denmark after he was dropped from Al-Masry due to a lack of passing skills. There, he was scouted for Akademisk Boldklub in 1999. In June 2003, he moved to the league rivals FC Midtjylland. In all, he scored 12 goals in 47 appearances for FC Midtjylland. In the winter break of the 2004-05 season he was bought by German club SV Werder Bremen for a fee of 3 million Euros. Initially, the talented striker made quite an impression with the general public, having scored 10 goals in 3 friendly games for Bremen. Even though he scored an official goal in his first two appearances, he was loaned out to FSV Mainz 05 for the remainder of the 2005-06 season. Zidans run of good form during the 2006/2007 season fueled many transfer rumors, and major clubs as Hamburg SV, newly crowned German Champions Stuttgart and several Spanish clubs were named as possible future clubs. Mainz manager Christian Heidel was very keen to keep Zidan at the club, so the club could mount a promotion challenge for the 2007/2008 2. Fußball-Bundesliga season. On June 3, 2007 Zidan passed a medical and thereby completed his move to Hamburger SV. He said that he always wanted a move to the north-German club, because he still has many ties to Denmark. The transfer fee was suspected to be about €5,5 million, and Zidan will be earning around €2,5 million per season. Zidan was handed the number 7 jersey, a number previously worn by Hamburg SV prized player and Iranian captain, Mehdi Mahdavikia. Zidan proved himself as a capable striker and could adjust to the new team in friendly games, often scoring when substituted or scoring 4 goals when he played the full game. Mohamed Zidan scored his first official goal for Hamburg SV in the away DFB Pokal match versus Holstein Kiel. However several appearances in Hamburg's start to the Bundesliga saw Zidan goalless, and often substituted off before the full 90 minutes of the game. Zidan however proved himself as a dangerous striker and playmaker, as he was brought on as a substitute against Bavarian giants Bayern München on the 74th minute. Zidan scored his first Bundesliga goal for Hamburg in the 87th minute, with the goal bearing a lot of significance as it ended Bayern's early undefeated run in the competition, was the first goal that Oliver Kahn had conceded up until then and was also the third goal that Zidan has scored against Bayern during his years in the Bundesliga. He recently featured for Egypt in the 2008 African Cup of Nations.

Ability and Development
Zidan is a player with a great future, at the start of the game, he is still pretty young (25) and is still not fully developed. He is not the greatest striker at the start, but he will be almost twice as good as he is by 2010. At the start, his CA is

and his PA is

, which will eventually make him one of the best strikers in the game, eventually around the equivilant of Carlos Tevez at the start of the game. The screenshots below will show you how he develops.

I Want Him
Well, your not alone, at the start of the game, Zidan can have high intrest from Premiership clubs. He normally doesn't leave HSV though. At the start of the game, his value is £2.5 million, but HSV know how well he can develop and are unlikely to let him leave for anything less than £7.5 million. You can approach to sign him on a bosman in 2009, but be prepared to pay him at least £25k every week. He is currently getting £19k a week at HSV, but will probably ask for a raise before thinking of leaving HSV.

Personality
Well, Zidan is very ambitous, which is what you want all of your players to be. He will fit in very well with pretty much any squad, and should settle pretty quick too.

Positions and Training
Zidan plays most effectively as a fast striker. He is certainly not your natural goalscorer. He can adapt to play in the Attacking Midfield position too, but you will get more assists and goals out of him by playing him as a fast striker. His attributes look pretty bad at the moment, but be sure that if you give him proper training, he may become a great forward in the future. Fast Strikers and Wingers need similar stats, so when his attributes will be at maximum, he will surely do a great job on the Left or the Right, if you decide to play him as a winger. Remember, he has a strong left foot and a strong right foot. The most important categories of training for a fast Striker are Aerobic, Ball Control and Attacking. Make sure you don't overload Aarón with training, but also make sure that he will work hard.

Strengths
Basically, Zidan's biggest strength is potential. As I said at the start, he does not have good starts at the moment, but soon he will have great stats. He is a player for the future. Along his average attributes, Zidan posses; good Acceleration & Pace, good Dribbling, good Technique and good Flair.
Acceleration & Pace - 18 & 16
Dribbling - 17
Technique - 16
Flair - 17

Amongst his other stats, he has a lot of 15's and 14's which soon develop into 17's, 18's, 19's and some 20's!

Weaknesses
Zidan has extremely balanced attributes, but he has a few weaknesses. The worse expect of his football is undoubtedly his aerial ability. His heading and jumping certainly can't be considered to be good, making him a bad choice for a target man role. His mental attributes can still improve, his positioning and teamwork and pretty bad for a striker, especially of his age.
Heading & Jumping - 4 & 4
Positioning - 9
Teamwork - 7

To conclude my review, I would like to state that even though HSV's Mohamed Zidan may not be a wonderkid, his attributes may not be as good as Pato's, Vela's or Bojan's , but he surely has a great future ahead of him. Make sure you snap him up as quickly as possible, involve him frequently in first team duties and you will have a great player at your disposal in 4-5 years.
7/10

To think that people can go out with hatred in their heart and take away people's sons or brothers or fathers is just beyond belief. That's the way I think about it now: it's only a game. 'Educate the kids to integrate with one another and not pay any attention to who's a Catholic and who's a Protestant, and any of that rubbish. 'Just go out there, support your team, make good friends and get on with your lives.
