Wome is now an Aston Villa player. James McMahon, today, confirmed he is done spending in the transfer market for this summer. And he did it in some style, snapping up ex-Werder Bremmen left back Pierre Wome. The season is about to start, with Aston Villa vs Derby in the first game, but Wome will not make it, although he is in the squad, McMahon said it would be better to let Wome train with the squad, and he wont be starting for at least 1 week.
Former Barcelona and Holland defender Michael Reiziger has begun his 4 week trial at Aston Villa. James McMahon said,
"Although he is old, he will provide that all important experience and back-up to the defence. If he impresses in training, then I will consider making a move for him.
Wonderkid Adam McGurk has joined Kidderminster on loan from Aston Villa. There were lots of big named clubs after the 18 year old stirkers signature, but McMahon insisted he was not going anywere for anything less than £7.5 million.
Ciaran Clark was also one of the most wanted names in English football yesterday, but Villa boss McMahon insisted that he is not going anywere. McMahon said Clark will easily become the best defender in the world and could be playing first team football by 2009.
So far, Aston Villa fans are still only satisfied by manager James McMahon. They all want to see him doing well and have faith in him. They are extrmely happy with McMahon's dealing's in the transfer market and are happy he has not let Adam McGurk leave the club permanently. McMahon is about to take charge of his first Premiership game against Derby. It should be an easy game for Villa, but will McMahon keep a cool head and get it right? Only time will tell.
