BREAKING NEWS: Juventus derby last for Tursk!
"I'll resign after this game." - these are the words of Tanel Tursk ahead of the game with Juventus. Legendary manager has cancer.
The announcement came as a shock to all of Turin and football world. Manager, who is hailed one of the best ever, is suffering from lung cancer.
"I discovered it just couple of weeks ago. Only few persons, including president Cairo and Rosina, knew about it. I've never felt so sad in my life, it's a step I had to take for my own and teams sake," he stated.
Manager, who surprisngly got Torino their first title in more than 30 years, has been hailed as god in Turin with Torino becoming a new superpower of football with little money thanks to his wisdom. This year, the magical side of his has won all it's games in Serie A and only lost once in all competitions, to Barcelona.
"His tactical skill are second to none", said former Italy manager Marcello Lippi just few weeks before. "He has done amazing job in Torino, in every possible way. I've never seen such side that has created so good balance in the team. Torino attacks with such skill, numbers, pace and versatility while they don't give away much in defence. He has built such versatile team, they can face anyone, because they can adapt to any style of play, quick, slow, in air, on ground and so on."
"I won't be gone. I want my assistant manager Antoine Rodriguez to take over the reigns in here. He knows my project, my ideology and he thinks the way I think. This decision isn't the end of Grande Torino. Antoine will carry it on the same way I did and I'll be here to support him as much as possible," told Tursk in conference.
Former U Cluj manager and Champions League winning manager also stated that tomorrow they will beat Juventus the way Torino has never beat them. |
