Torino went to match against Lazio as clear-cut favourites, but it wasn't to be as easy. Lazio was in good form this season and sat 3rd in table after 12 games played. Cedric Konan and Markus Eskilsson were still sitting out, but Alexandre Bonnet was put into bench for this match. It was the visiting side who got off the better start, but Jose Pablo Guerrero low shot was parried away by Marcelo Grohe as the cross was delivered by Valon Behrami. Guerrero and Lazio were looking good, but the striker headed free-kick of Cristian Ledesma just over the bar and Tommaso Rocchi blasted wide from 25 meters out. Lazio dominated the start, but more the game went on, Torino started to have a say and first chance was very close to a goal. Riccardo Montolivo's set piece found Rolando Bianchi few meters out, but the striker managed to head the ball miles over, incredible miss for the Serie A third best goalscorer. Matthieu Bodmer turned around to shoot over the bar, but Torino got some bad news minutes later. Rolando Bianchi had to limp off with a twisted ankle and Alexis Sanchez replaced him. This was the last of first half action and second half took a wile to start. Elvis Abbruscato headed ball forward to Sanchez in box, but the Chilean saw his shot saved. Following corner saw Daniele Bonera also getting a header, but it flew over. Alexandre Bonnet came on for Alessandro Rosina in a risky move by Tanel Tursk, but it seemed like Torino was taking the reigns completely in this match when Alexis Sanchez was saved near post when he took down Gabriel Tamas long ball. Riccardo Montolivo shot wide on 73rd minute and then another unexpected change brought in Simone Padoin for Silva who wasn't on his usual this match. Though all the risks paid off with fabulous goal from Alexis Sanchez. The forward went on a fabulous run from his own half when he got a pass from Montolivo, took the ball past two defenders and then lofted the ball over the closing down goalkeeper Libis Arenas. Certainly it was a sign of what was to come from this young player in future as he had scored a fine individual effort against Barcelona on Tuesday aswell. Torino didn't look back and went for more, but Gabriel Tamas saw his free-kick barely tipped for corner by Arenas. Sanchez went on another mazy run with pass from Abbruscato, but one on one was saved and when he finally did get his second with a half volley over Arenas, he was correctly denied by linesman as he was offside. Torino got a second on 88th minute though, Marco Andreolli threw the ball to substitute Alexandre Bonnet and French U21 international made most of it, taking the ball past one as he cut into the box and smashed a fabulous curling effort into the top corner of Lazio goal. Gabriel Tamas made the scoreline even more embarrassing for Lazio, his free-kick flew under the bar from 25 meters as it was too high for jump of Arenas. 3-0 it ended and Torino showed again what they are made of, stunning victory over 3rd place Lazio, three great goals and two of them from young substitutes.
