MM: Joining with me in the studio, Italian national team manager Roberto Donadoni! Welcome, Roberto! Take a seat! Roberto Donadoni (RD): Thanks! MM: Remember that you can ask questions from us on our website on this fantastic afternoon in Italy. Sun is shining and tensions are high. Hopefully the stadiums will be full aswell! RD: Yes, I heard today that stadiums are really filling up more than usual. It's positive. Hopefully no bad memories from this day. MM: Couldn't agree more! Three teams still in the title race, Torino ahead by four points, while Inter and Sampdoria trail. Torino will clinch the title today if they win, but there are other scenarios which may take them to the title aswell already on this Sunday! RD: It's really fabulous. Reminds me of the golden days of the league when it was battled out in final games. All teams have class, Inter the players and Torino and Sampdoria the heart and determination. MM: Who do you think will come out at top? RD: I'd put my bets on Torino. Even when their form has been up and down lately, they've been great through-out the season and with four points lead they are clear favorites. MM: Though, let's take a look at the line-ups for all teams before going to a commercial. MM: Torino starting with Marcelo Grohe, Simone Padoin, Marco Di Loreto, Gabriel Tamas, Marco Pisano, Alessandro Rosina, Simone Barone, Silva, Antonio Di Natale, Roberto Stellone and Elvis Abbruscato in a flat 4-4-2 formation. Stefano Fiore, Nicolae Mitea, Marco Andreolli, Andrea Mei and Marco Rossi missing the game. While bench involves players like Cacau, Nikola Lazetic & Cedric Konan. Sampdoria goes with Jerzy Dudek, Guy Demal, Arruabarrena, Sala, Olsson, Brecko, Martin Petrov, Angelo Palombo, Gennaro Del Vecchio, Fabio Bazzani and Emiliano Bonazzoli in a similiar 4-4-2. They too have sevaral lads missing - Christian Terlizzi, Andrea Gasbarroni and Sergio Volpi being very important players. Inter is strong even with David Villa, Walter Samuel and Maxi Rodriquez injuried as Julio Cesar, Javier Zanetti, Fabio Grosso, Marco Materazzi, Ivan Cordoba, Dejan Stankovic, Franck Ribery, Olveir Dacourt, Patrick Vieira, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Florent Malouda plan to rip Napoli apart. Players like Crespo, Recoba and Maxwell are certainly threat from bench aswell. RD: All sides have immense line-ups without a doubt even with so many key players missing for them. You could make a decent Italy side with players from these three teams already. MM: Sure you can. It's a wild afternoon of Serie A. Battle of giants! Espescially as Napoli, Milan and Parma who are opponents aren't walkovers in no means. RD: They aren't. Napoli in end of 80's and Parma in 90's were great sides and they still have the reputation. While Milan isn't doing what they want in league, but still they got into Champions League and they won't make it easy for Sampdoria even if they rest some key players. MM: Time is ticking against us. Let's take a little break and go live to Ennio Tardini in Parma as Torino as teams are leaving dressing rooms already. |
