Fresh from two games without a win, Torino was set to have a tough away trip to Udine as they met the local side Udinese with Simone Barone back in the starting line-up with Tanel Tursk returning to the bench and Elvis Abbruscato to the first team from week break. Alessandro Rosina and Marco Pisano continued to carry bans and another worry came after Milan game as Lazetic was diagnosed with ankle trouble and will be out until the final match of the season. Torino got the better start as brilliant move saw Silva pass opening up opportunity for Elvis Abbruscato, but striker saw his effort saved. Roberto Stellone's follow-up was blocked and Barone's header took a deflection of a defender and fell into goalkeepers hands. Though that triple opportunity proved decisive as minutes later Gyan Asamoah sent Barreto on a run as the Brazilian skinned Simone Padoin before finishing the ball low into far corner. And two minutes later Udinese was 2:0 up as Anotino D'Agostino's pass gave an opportunity to Schumacher and the attacking midfielder blasted the ball into far top corner from 15 meters. Udinese continued to dominate after quick goals on 8th and 10th minute, but Schumacher shot over after he had turned around Raffaele Schiavi. Gyan Asamoah went past Toro defence with his pace, but was denied one on one by Marcelo Grohe while Rio Mavuba shot over from similiar opportunity. Torino finally got a say in the game when Gabriel Tamas found Elvis Abbruscato with a clearance and the marksman went through on a nice run and passed the ball to Roberto Stellone in front of the goal, but Stellone couldn't hit it properly and the place landed in the arms of Udinese goalkeeper. This mistake was the last one Torino could afford as minutes later Barreto brilliantly controled the ball in the area before slotting it through to D'Agostino who had no problems finishing off between the post and body of Grohe. This was last of the first half as broken Torino decided to bring in Cecilio Velazquez, Cedric Konan and Claudio De Sousa against this Udinese side going for 4th victory from last five matches. Silva shot his free-kick over and Elvis Abbruscato headed Velazquez deep standard kick into the side net. Asamoah saw his header from Djuric free-kick caught on near post by Grohe. Elvis Abbruscato headed another cross from Velazquez over from 8 meters as Silva saw his free-kick saved brilliantly. Simone Barone almost managed to bring a smile to faces of Torino fans, when his half volley was brilliantly denied by Udinese goalkeeper with Marco Andreolli giving the short pass. From following Antonio Di Natale corner, Cedric Konan hit the crossbar with his diving header. Zlatan Muslimovic shot from 25 meters was brilliantly directed wide by Grohe and it was the last of the highlight action of the afternoon. Loss cut Torino's lead at the top of the table to half as Inter is now second after winning Milan in derby, Sampdoria third with a loss to Fiorentina, Roma fourth with a loss to Atalanta and Juventus fifth with a loss to Chievo. And it seems truly that the later of challengers is out of the title race with 8 points separting them from city rivals.
