Torino was having problems getting full squad together for a very long time as constantly when someone recovered from injury, someone else had to stay out. This was the case again, when Alessandro Rosina returned to starting line-up againist Ascoli, but Elvis Abbruscato was out with a three-match suspension. Also Silva, Simone Barone and Andrea Mei missed for the title contesting Granata in this tough home game againist Ascoli. Simone Padoin's Torino career had started well and it almost got better when he sent a thunderbolt towards goal from 30 metres out, but Mora parried the ball brilliantly with a flying save from top corner. Torino did get a leading goal on 12th minute when Roberto Stellone's brilliant diving header from Marco Andreollis free-kick went flying towards the far post and landed in the net as Mora had no chance to stop the fantastic effort. Three mintes later, Torino grabbed one more as a result of a mistake between goalkeeper Mora and defender, as Mora couldn't control a very powerful back-pass and Cedric Konan picked it up. Eventhough the Ivorian saw his shot saved, Stellone tapped in the follow-up. It was 10th goal of the league season for Roberto Stellone Torino was dominant in the start of the game and Stellone spoted Cedric Konan with a brilliant pass behind defenders, which the Ivorian striker picked up, but his shot flew over the bar, having left the defenders behind. Marcelo Grohe finally got bringed into game shortly after half-hour mark as he brilliantly catched David Generelo's long range effort. Generelo was Ascoli's best player of the first half and he sent a low cross for Juan Valera, whose shot from central position flew straight at Grohe and the Brazilian pushed it away. Gionata Mingozzi had two long range efforts go wide of the goal before the break which saw Cacau replacing Konan. Second half started with a great combination of Torino, which saw Antonio Di Natale freed up at near post with Andreolli's pass, but winger saw his shut pushed over by fingertips of Mora. Lionel Mathis and Nikola Lazetic came on before Sasa Bjelanovic was at the end of a fine long ball foward, but saw his low shot saved after breaking his way into the area. Mingozzi's central effort flew over from 30 metres, but Cacau almost made it 3:0 at the other end when Nikola Lazetic went past three players to cross for Brazilian whose header was saved by Spaniard Mora. Duda shot a free-kick over the goal in final minutes as Torino enjoyed a second consecutive victory and their lead upfront rose to four points as Juventus had a draw with Udinese. There was some bad news for Torino fans as Marco Pisano seemed to injure himself in final minutes and could face time in the sidelines.
