How to Install Face Packs, Kits, Logos and other things... Guide to downloading and installing an add-on files Including Balls, Face Packs, Kits, Logos, Nets, Skins, Tactics and Training. Once the file is downloaded successfully, use an appropriate archiving program such as Winzip (for zipped files), Winrar (for rar files), or my preference of choice, PowerArchiver (for everything), then open the file and extract it to one of the following locations; Balls C:Program Files/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2006/data/graphics/pitch/balls FacePacks C:Program Files/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2006/data/graphics/pictures/person/custom Fonts C:Program Files/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2006/data/fonts The fonts must be in the form of a .t2k file Kits C:Program Files/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2006/Data/Graphics/Pictures/kits/clubs Logos (club) C:Program Files/Sports Interactive/Football Manager2006/Data/Graphics/Pictures/Clubs Logos (Comp) C:Program Files/Sports Interactive/Football Manager2006/Data/Graphics/Pictures/Competitions Nets C:Program Files/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2006//data/graphics/pitch/nets Skin C:Program Files/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2006/data/skins Each skin goes into its own folder automatically Occasionally you may have to import fonts as part of the process see the fonts section above Tactics My Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2006/Tactics Training My Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2006/Training Note that the location of your game could be different, but this is the generic location for the game. Note that most archived files contain their own readme files and these should be read as they may contain specific instructions about the installation. If you are in any doubt at all print it out and follow these instructions. For the majority of downloads, thats all thats required except to start FM2006 up and play. However, for skin downloads, the next time you start up FM2006, you need to go to the preferences screen prior to loading / starting a game. About halfway down, there is the display part of the page. Select the skin you have just downloaded from the drop down menu, and confirm your action. The new skin will take some time to load as all the graphics you have loaded to get to this point have to be entered into you computers memory, normally a good point to make a cup of coffee or whatever. This should be about the time it takes to impliment the changes you have made, again depending on you computers specifications. Any downloaded tactics will need to be imported into the game. Go to the tactics screen and click the tactics button. A drop-down menu will appear and if Archived Tactics is selected, then all of the tactics in the tactics folder in MyDocs will appear, click on them to use them as normal. I would suggest that if you are going to use a couple of tactics that you save the tactis which will include the tactic in the bottom of this drop down menu. Training Schedules can also be imported. This is done by selecting training schedules. Click on the file menu and import .. appears at the botton of the drop down menu. Clicking on this shows all files and folders in the training folder in MyDocs. Highlight a tactic and press select ant the tactic can now be populated with coaches and players. Very occasionally you can experience problems with this part of the process, and this is where your back-up comes into play. If you have several patch programs in place they may occasionally counteract one another and cause a conflict. For example I had, recently the Kroll sound pack, 5.05 patch, Aurora V1.1, wrinkled kit superpack, and various other add-ons. I tried to install another add-on and the program refused to go beyond a certain point. I found out, again through bitter experience, that I had to totally remove the Sports Interactive folder, restart the computer and re-install all that I needed. ;-(( Last edited by Tazskool; 26-06-06 at 03:53 PM. |
