When they finally offer him a new deal, he wanted a full-time contract but the chairman once again said no and offered him a part-time contract. James said, "Well, I decided I was too good for Eastbourne and I started taking my interest elsewhere. I have declared my interest in a few jobs which could be available sooner rather than later! I am also not saying that I haven't applied for a job." Shortly after he resigned from Eastbourne, Scottish manager James McMahon was appointed as Serbia manager. He sai, "I am delighted to be here and I fell I can take Serbia to bigger and better things." All Serbian football supporters were ecstatic with the appointment of one of the best managers in the world. Then.. One week later, James was also appointed as Charlton Athletic manager. No-one knew exactly what was happening apart from the Serbian FA, Charlton Athletic F.C and James himself. Soon after, Charlton chairman Richard Murray, a Serbian FA representative and James McMahon appeared at a press conference to explain what was happening. James was to be manager of both Serbia and Charlton. Soon after this, Charlton received a MASSIVE TAKE-OVER, but James kept his job. Before James took over Charlton, I had always thought of them as being relegation battlers, well, they probably were, but not anymore because they have they best manager they could ask for. I would love to go to Charlton when my contract with Inter is up, but I don't fell I could leave Internazional after a great few seasons with them. You never know, you could be seeing me in a Charlton top in 2010 when my contract is out, or I could sign within the next new weeks, no body knows!"
