There was no injuries in the pre-season and Tursk filled up his promise by handing a debut to the young Brazilian goalkeeper Andre Zuba in the match. The game started off with quick Torino attack in the 6th minute as Elvis Abbruscato dribbled past a stranded goalkeeper and a defender to net in a Roberto Stellone pass as he had the proud chance to become the first goalscorer of Torino this year. Few minutes later youngster Zuba confirmed his talents by making a fantastic save on Ivrea striker, pushing the ball over the goal and quickly after Il Granata got under the other goal. Roberto Stellone first pulled out a great save from Ivrea goalkeeper, but the ball fell to Stefano Fiore outside of area who then passed the ball to Simone Barone who was free in the box and he sent the ball into the low far corner to make it 2-0 with a debut goal. Five minutes later Abbruscato hit the cross-bar as it was lively start to the game as waited from Torino, but after the game had calmed down at the middle of the half Toro got a painful lesson. The ball was staying around the Torino area for a long time until it fell to Mirko Maresca who was like fourty meters from goal. Maresca took few running steps and then fired a fantastic curling effort into the top corner despite Zuba almost getting his fingertips there. Ivrea scores with fantastic effort Torino was quick to react, but Abbruscato's effort flew over the cross par as he was left alone with the goalkeeper. He made up for this soon enough though and just minute later after the incident he headed in a Nikola Lazetic cross as he was left unmarked ten meters from the goal. Il Granata enjoyed couple of more chances at the end of the half, but efforts from Stellone, Alessandro Rosina and Diego De Ascentis flew over the bar. For the second half Tursk introduced Gianluca Comotto and Cedric Konan, but again Torino had to grab their heads after Raffaele Schiav's and Konan's shot were both followed by fantastic saves from opponent goalkeeper. Though both of the guys were part of the fourth Toro goal. Raffaele Schiavi sent a fourty meter free-kick to Konan who headed it in under the bar, eventhough goalkeeper should've saved this one. The Ivorian striker was the maker of the next goal for Torino though, he perfectly timed his run to stay onside and then as he got the ball passed it to Abbruscato who grabed a hattrick by sending it in from three yards without any kind of disturbance. The shining Abbruscato earned a foul in the 66th minute from 25 meters and fans favourite Alessandro Rosina made a brilliant free-kick, getting help from the goalpost to get the ball straight in from such long range. Alessandro Rosina scores a free-kick There was no stoping for Abbruscato yet, the former Arezzo man grabed his fourth of the evening by brilliantly avoiding offside after a long range pass from Marco Di Loreto as he fooled the goalkeeper again to score the final goal of the night. Four for Abbruscato! In the next round Torino will meet their Serie A mates Catania in a week time.
