Manager's Corner!

Torcida Granata today presents you a special corner as our new manager Tanel Tursk has promised to write a review every month and after important events for the club.

Hello, Toro fans!

This is my first entry here. We've finished most of our pre-season, now it's final weeks of preperation.

I've searched around here and there around the Torino forums, I've seen multiple reactions to what I've done, who I am and everything.

Today, in the first entry, I'm going to talk about my tactics. Tactics aren't just drawn on paper, though mostly the are. There are transfer tactics, motivation tactics etc and ofcourse the tactics that most of you are arguing about aka the one's that need to be drew on paper.

There have been many doubts about mine and Cairo's transfer market tactics, but we had already gotten some great players like Simone Barone into the team so I was given a chance to get some players I want myself too.

I'm not going to talk about Christian Abbiati, but his replacements have been creating quite a widespread reaction. It seems like no-one really likes Andre Zuba who is a very nice goalkeeper and you should even come see him in the training and no-one seems to trust Cristiano Lupatelli after his troubles over last seasons.

Well, they will become very important for us I can tell you, both of them and Taibi will make sure our backline will be kept safe, Lupatelli and Taibi who are two well experienced players can tutor Zuba and sharing their lives of big teams to the others and they know what it takes to play in big team, eventhough Taibi's stint in England for example was disappointment.

I don't know who I will play yet, but I believe this will be a healthy fight between them and probably I may start Zuba in the first cup tie, but I need to decide on the cup issue as I don't know do I want to get a second possibility for an European ticket or not.

Roberto Cuevas, the striker, isn't going to be a first choice, he knows that himself. He is an emergency back-up at the moment, but he is very happy with that role and he gets along with the players very well.

I don't think I need to talk about Schiavi, who will be our leading center-back in future though.

I and Cairo have decided not to put any money into transfers at the moment and if everything goes good we won't too anything in January too though as we don't have the possibilty to throw the money around.

But oh well, let's go down to the "tactics".

Our options in the squad fit the best for a 3-5-2 formation as we've got a lot of midfielders and center-backs so it's the best way to play the best players. For me keeping the opponent score at 0 is very important, but that doesen't mean that with players like Alessandro Rosina, Elvis Abbruscato, Nikola Lazetic and so on, we're going to play defensive. We obviously need the entertainment also.

I think I'm going to have some sleepless night thinking of the players that should play the next day, because it's always the toughest decision for a manager from what I've learned from my career.

There are some players that though after seeing them in the pre-season and past are rather untouchable status at the moment. They are Simone Barone, Alessandro Rosina, Elvis Abbruscato and Raffaele Schiavi at the moment, but this list can grow, though also decrease which I make sure won't happen.

Anyway I wish you fans all good for the upcoming season and hopefully my next entry will be soon, most probably after the September matches which I take together.

Toro for Scudetto!
