Double scoop for Torino

Torino today announced the loan signing of goalkeeper Cristiano Lupatelli and also clinched a suprising deal with unknown Spanish striker.

28-year old Lupatelli was signed from Fiorentina as the Torino fans voiced concern of Andre Zuba being unlikely to fill in the no. 1 gloves yet with Massimo Taibi being opposite - too old.

"I think Lupatelli is a great Italian goalkeeper. He may not be a Buffon, but when I see him I sort of like him and I've seen him make some spectacular saves, espescially in his Fiorentina year," told Toro manager Tanel Tursk to Tuttosport today morning.

Lupatelli was on transfer list for La Viola, but they are pleased to get rid of his wages which are rather big for a third choice goalkeeper. His contract runs out next summer, but in case of good form he may get a permanent deal with Il Granata.

"I think he can fit our excellent selection of goalkeeper very well and I think he may be the first choice at the start of the season for sure, what becomes after that is all upto him. I though see everything during the remaining month or so of the pre-season," told Tursk at the end of the press conference in the Torino pre-season camp.

Torino also announced that they've signed a Spaniard, former Murcia player, Roberto Cuevas from U.D. Merida. 25-year old striker will probably sit in the sidelines at the start of the season though thanks to an injury and an unknown reputation.
