Talented center-back was put together with Torino after their new manager Tanel Tursk named him as an option in the meeting with the fans just yesterday. Schiavi is relishing the prospect in getting his feet down in Serie A after making just one performance last season before getting loaned out to Brescia in Serie B. Schiavi, who started his career in Salernitana, another Il Granata, said to Sky Sports Italia during the interview that he has plans to make it into the first team here. "I know that manager Tanel Tursk rates me high so that gives me a nice chance. I think I've developed vastly over the past year and I'm going to feel proud to be in the same side with players like Simone Barone, Stefano Fiore and Giuseppe Pancaro." Corriere della Sera managed to get words from Tanel Tursk after the last training of the day in the training center. "It's great that we sealed the deal without no bigger complications. He is a great talent, as I've said before, and I think he can in few years time become one important member of Italy national team back-line," told the Estonian. Schiavi welcomed the new teammates in the dressing room today and he'll join the trainings tomorrow. 20 July 2006 |
