The hottest rumour around is about Christian Abbiati's departure and who is going to replace him. "We're reaching the final details in the deal of Brazilan hotshot Andre Zuba, who has a Italian passport," answered Tursk to the questions about the new guy between the post. "I was hoping to get Gianluca Pegolo from Hellas Verona, but his price tag was too big for us so we had to cut the deal off." Zuba is a 20-year old goalkeeper from Brazilian club Palmeiras, but it's going to be seen if he actually is good enough to wear the gloves in Italy as otherwise Torino may be in trouble. "We've also looked at couple of other positions, most notable striker and central defender, but we may not get an extra striker eventhough it may be necesarry," said Tursk about other transfer possiblities. Lately there is rumour that to the center-back position Tursk is looking for Giulio Falcone, an ex-Torino player, from Sampdoria, but he totally rejected that rumour and giving the real player he wants. "Those rumours are false totally. I like young Raffaele Schiavi from Lecce and I do my all to get him here, he has a great ability to become a great defender in future," he suprised. It's Schiavi for Toro? 20-year old Lecce defender is highly rated around Italy and according to Tursk the deal is almost done and all he is waiting for is for the man himself to get into Torino and put the pen on paper. "He is a classical Italian center-back. Just like Cannavaro, Nesta and Materazzi he is great in the air, poses nice amount of pace, has godly positioning and oozes of determination and bravery," Tursk praised the young center-back. Then Tursk talked about the plans for this season and he is wishing for a Top 10 finish. "I hope we will end up in the first half of the table as it's Torino's first season in Serie A over some years. There is a great chance of snatching a place in Europe, but we have to see how strong we are once the season starts. " "I've been with the team for few days in the pre-season, except from their determination I don't really get much information about the skills." Tursk took over Il Granata less than a week ago. |
